Over de auteur
Marieke van Noppen, born in Gouda, The Netherlands in 1993, has been writing down her thoughts about life since primary school. Only the last two years this changed from notes to poems, which are based on personal experiences and the life experiences of different generations. Many poems are related to her long-distance relationship with Sanan Talibov, born in Baku, Azerbaijan in 1991. They met during their university years and fell in love on their trip to Azerbaijan, despite the distance they maintained their loving relationship. Marieke noted her sentient and hopeful poems down about love for her beloved, but also about self-love and love for nature. Her poems about femininity show both the vulnerable and powerful qualities of being a woman. When Sanan and Marieke were merely friends, he wrote her a note saying: ‘Let our friendship live forever, Love Sanan’, and here they are, more in love than ever.
