Summary

I’ve always been an anonymous pseudo-writer
a maybe-someday published storyteller
waiting for it to be my turn
so that I could finally tell a story of my own

dear reader
I thank you for reading my spilled words
thank you for turning my maybe into a definitely
thank you for making my dream come true
- a pseudo-writer and finally-published storyteller

-    a pseudo-writer and finally-published storyteller

From the book

whenever I find myself back in the blad
surrounded by my aunts, uncles and cousins
I am always made to feel like I’m different
torn
between two cultures
too western for the middle east
and too ethnic for the west
politicians in my country find me too conservative
for following a religion
they decided doesn’t fit into their western standards
and my countrymen back home think I’m too western
too modern for their liking
