Samenvatting
As we make our way through life, loneliness, suffering, and bleak reality plague us all. The author took this suffering and looked to the stars. There they found themselves, and there they found the strength to carry on. Realising that art was what made life meaningful, they endeavoured to do just that. They write of love, of gratitude, of the beauty of the world we live in. We may all feel lonely at times, but as we are human, we can find purpose still. They implore the reader to recognise that the beauty of life is often in the little things. Days spent with friends. A mighty sunset. The smell of grass in summer.
Over de auteur
From an early age, Jesse knew the struggle with finding meaning in the world. Having grown up in a very privileged environment as a Dutch person, they were very aware of their fortune, and wish to share their gratitude with the rest of the world. They took an interest in ancient mythology and very much enjoy the act of thinking about stories in general. Having found that they also enjoy writing, it did not take long for them to start engaging in producing poetry.
They often think about the world and their place in it. This is part of the reason for why they are so obsessed with the idea of God, even if they are not necessarily a believer. Coming to know the joy that life can entail also proved to be great fuel for their creative spirit, and they are equally thankful to have their loved ones by their side.
Art has become a refuge to them. It provides meaning where the world would give them none, and they hope that it might do the same for those who read their work.
