Samenvatting

In Dialogues within my head; Poetry from inside my soul Lucrecia Paulina bares all when she vividly describes her opinion on her life-experiences. The metaphors used are a representation of what she considers her ‘I-dialogues’, dialogues she has with herself inside her mind. The ‘you’ in her poems does not always refer to a single person or situation. Often this ‘you’ symbolizes a mentality which represents various people and mentalities. Through the broad range of themes addressed in her poetry, she hopes to touch the hearts of her readers.

Over de auteur

"I (1980) was born on the island of Curacao. My hometown is probably the reason for my ability to speak and read different languages. My passion for books did the rest. I studied Criminology, but I prefer working with prisoners above creating policies. In poetry I find an outlet to express my thoughts and feelings on my life experiences. Dialogues within my head; Poetry from inside my soul is my second work of poetry. Previously I published Den helicon bestijgen."

Inkijk

Drops of tears

Drops of tears fall silently,
moistening the earth beneath your feet.
Your mouth is dry, your mind’s in a haze;
and voices of comfort sound like deceit.

They say time will heal,
this is just a phase.
All will clear
eventually.

But how to go through each day you ask,
when it takes time for time to pass?
My advice is to face the pain.
When teardrops stop; it will be smiles you gain.
