Over de auteur
Erik was born in Alkmaar and moved to Dubai with his parents when he was eight years old. He attended college in the US before returning to The Netherlands where he served in the military, after which he went into IT. He fulfilled his lifetime dream in 2013 when he moved to South Africa and became a ranger. This book is the culmination of his experiences that shattered his life and brought him back to the Netherlands.

This came to a head one morning when Mashau asked for some BB to smoke. He still had no manners and just demanded to smoke. I ignored him as I had done from the start. Maka told him he would give him some BB after he washed, but he just refused and demanded the BB beforehand. Maka got annoyed and repeated he had to wash first. I told Maka that this was exactly the situation I feared would arise. Just then Mashau went crazy and started shouting for the cops and banging on the outer door. This was a dangerous situation and we had to think fast because we all remembered what had happened in cell one. MacGyver and I grabbed plastic, started wrapping up the phones and charger again to seal them from the water. Maka opened up the toilet and tried to put his phone as far back in the toilet construction as possible. I quickly stuffed what little BB I had left into my pants. We didn’t have much time, we heard the keys opening the outer gates to the passage of the cell block. We had to scramble and MacGyver dropped the other phone and charger inside the toilet construction. Maka tried to move them as far into the back as possible before the door to the cell opened up and the fat captain and one other cop came in.
