Samenvatting

Tertius has a secret he has never told anyone. He can see auras. When his secret gets out after a disastrous birthday, his parents send him to a mental asylum. When Tertius arrives at Eclipse Hall, his only goal is to get out as soon as possible. But when he meets the other patients and gets to know them better, he learns that it might not be such a coincidence that he ended up there. Tertius needs to learn how to control his powers. Quickly. Because dark forces are coming after him and his friends and they won't stop until he's dead.

Over de auteur

Jonas De Backer was born and raised in Belgium, but has always dreamed of living in America. He has a heart for children and loves working with them every day. When he's not with his head in the clouds or his nose in a book, he tries to write stories. Stories that mean something to him and that might mean something for others. Telling and sharing his story has been like baring his soul for the world to see. Take good care of it.

Inkijk

The three of us go down the stairs and open the front door. It’s a cold night and I wish I had taken my jacket. The moon has been cut in half, but it still gives off some light and we don’t need the flashlight Patroclus brought. Honestly, it seems like the guy packed his whole house when he came here.
‘So what’s the plan exactly?’, Sasha’s voice breaking the silence.
Patroclus seems to think about it, as if until now he hadn’t thought about the fact he actually would break into Berringfield’s house.
‘He should have a personal office there, I’m sure there’s something we can take and show Ryan without him missing it.’
‘Ryan told me something about his wife and kid earlier today, about them dying. I believe the papers were unclear?’
‘Tertius...’, Patroclus says. ‘They didn’t die, they were killed.’
That stops me. Ryan had only told me they died years ago, but he didn’t mention anything about a murder.
Sasha nods. ‘It happened years ago. Berringfields’ wife and son were taking a walk in the woods when a patient escaped. Eclipse Hall was different back then. They kept the worst of the worst. People that weren’t meant to get better were brought and kept here until they died.
