Over de auteur
Eline van Olderen (2005) is born and raised in Almere. They live there with their parents and two sisters. They've always enjoyed writing stories,
but never had any concrete ideas to turn it into anything. Besides writing, Eline takes an interest in binging series on Netflix. That's how the idea for Whatever it takes came into existence. The show takes place in space, after Earth isn't suitable for living anymore. This concept got Eline thinking about that one hypothetical question we've all asked ourselves once: What would happen if the world came to an end?

Lucinda pulls her daughter closer.

We do not wish for humankind to be extinguished entirely. These ships will provide food and basic needs for people long enough to survive and build a new home, a new civilisation, somewhere safe. Now, we understand everyone wants to be on one of those ships, but I hope you also understand that is impossible. We simply do not have enough ships nor food to provide for us all. That’s why we’ve come up with a test. Everyone who wishes to be on one of these ships, has to take the test first. If you fail, you have to stay here, but if you succeed, you can come on board. You can start taking the test beginning tomorrow. We are terribly sorry for this inconvenience, but we are trying to handle it best we can. Enjoy the rest of your day – and possibly, life.’
